Moose Hunt and Seafood Run 2008

This is a few of the pics from our annual big motorcycle trip to the northeastern US, farthest point being Bar Harbor, Maine. We traversed the landscapes, highways and scenic byways of TX, OK,AR, MO, IL, IN, OH, PA, NY, VT, NH, MA, MD, WV, VA, KY, and TN. The trip took us 19 days (spent 3 of those on business in Albany, NY) and about 6900 miles.

    No kidding, you really need to be cautious on the backroads from Indiana throughout the northeast. This sign was in New York on the western edge, close to Lake Ontario. Lots and lots of farmland in New York.
    Growing up in the Texas Panhandle, farming and ranching was, and still is, big business. However, it is a rare sight to see grain silos - much less on almost every farm like we saw on this trip. This pic was taken in western New York.
    It is obviously Monday and that means washday in Amish country. The traditional quilt was just a bonus to seeing all the beautiful handmade clothing of the family hanging on the line to dry. It was around noon when we came through and the laundry finished and on the line.
